Looking for inspiration

Posted: October 27th, 2008 by Jean

One of my students has several photos of her children sleeping and indicated an interest in doing an appropriate layout. While searching online for inspiration I came across several sites of interest and thought I’d create a link here to share these with my students. Check Tips and Techniques and Patterns. I’ll update regularly. My search did result in the layout ‘While You Were Sleeping’. (Precious Piecings by Lisa) I don’t think it’s what my student had in mind, but really sweet. Check it out.

Paper Piecing - Little Boxes

Posted: October 25th, 2008 by Jean

Came across this site for a paper crafting tool called Scor-Pal. I don’t have a Scor-Pal but I do own a bone folder ($5.00 - $6.00 at your local craft store or Wal-Mart) and using my acrylic ruler I tried several of their projects. (They give complete and detailed instructions for all the projects shown) The treat box below took me less than fifteen minutes to make and that includes stopping to take pictures and filling the box when finished.

I used heavy duty cardstock and double-sided tape. That’s it. One sheet of 12×12 will make two boxes.
