Cricut, Custom Orders, and Creative Memories

Posted: November 20th, 2008 by Jean

I’ve had the Cricut for several months now but have to admit I’ve used it for little more than titles and tags - though for that reason alone it’s been worth every penny. There are so many cartridges out there I’d like to have, but can hardly justify the cost unless I start using what I have. With that in mind, I’ve decided I’ll work on one ‘Cricut’ layout a week - using primarily those cartridges I do have: New Arrival and Doodlecharms. Will share the results in the link at right: my first ‘Cricut’ layout: Baby: It’s A Boy

Just finished a custom order You are My Sunshine. I like it. Hope the customer does too.

With Christmas just around the corner and everyone so busy, have postponed my next classes until January.

Have posted the website for Creative Memories local demonstrator and sales rep, Kelley Fewer, in link at right. Can’t wait to use some more of those beautiful papers.

Custom Pages

Posted: November 11th, 2008 by Jean

Just finished a layout for a lady with the only requirements being the title, “Snow Day”, and that I use purple. (daughter’s snowsuit is purple) Have to admit I wondered about purple and snow - but the end result was gorgeous. Check out the link at the right: Winter - Snow Day.

All double page layouts cost $16.00 and this includes custom orders as well. If you have an idea, I can put it together on paper.

Creative Memories

Posted: November 9th, 2008 by Jean

Just finished the layout “Koala”-fied Graduate using the Achievement refill pack from Creative Memories. These papers are gorgeous. At 75 cents a sheet, they are a little more expensive than what I usually pay ( I look for the bargains), but still cheaper than what you’ll regularly pay at Michael’s. The paper is printed on both sides and having a package of co-ordinated paper for creating any layout is a definite plus. No rummaging about seeking that one color you know you don’t have and desperately need. Even the koala bear is pieced together using paper from the set. An added plus, there’s a consultant in our immediate area - Kelley Fewer of Summerford - and turn-around time on orders is quick! Not sure if Kelley has a website, but I’ll check, and if so, I’ll post the address later.

This particular layout can be personalized with student’s name, school name and date. For more pictures, check the link at the right.

Paper piecing

Posted: November 3rd, 2008 by Jean

Don’t limit those paper piecing patterns to just your scrapbooks. Pieced together this cute little skunk to use on my grandson’s treat bag. This year he dressed as a skunk. Too stinkin’ cute! This pattern was purchased from Precious Piecings by Lisa. Check out website under Patterns link.

A student wants to do a page featuring Dance and I’ve been working on a few ideas. Check out Twinkle Toes (Precious Piecings by Lisa) in the link at the right.

Loves music, loves to dance!

Loves music, loves to dance!

Have also added a Hot Treats for Chilly Sweets to the Student Layouts link. Love the rosy cheeks in this one!
