Card Swap

Tonight I’m working on my cards for the upcoming swap. I’m restricted to using StampinÚp products and key for this particular swap is to use one of the new stamps showcased in the sneak peak we had of the new catalogue. I chose the Autumn Days stamp set which has a lovely selection of fall foliage.  Being a big fan of paper piecing, however, I’ve also put together this adorable little bear I’ll use on the card front. I’ve called him Chip. (Notice his head is shaped like a chocolate chip.) I’ve used SU cardstock: Creamy Caramel for the body and for the pads of his feet and his cute little nose, what else but Chocolate Chip? I very much like piecing with this paper. It’s a heavier cardstock which is great when cutting those teeny tiny pieces. Used SU chalk for shading: Chocolate Chip for the body and Pink Passion for his cheeks. Added highlights with the white uni-ball Signo Gel Pen. The mouth was drawn with a Zig Writer 1.2. Color? Chocolate Chip of course! The eyes I simply drew on with a Sakura Microperm .01 pen and again used the white gel pen for highlights. I think he’s adorable!

In keeping with the fall theme, Chip is sitting next to a rather plump pumpkin. The pumpkins were assembled from circles punched with the 1-1/4 inch punch (I used Pumpkin Pie and Only Orange cardstock, both shaded with Bravo Burgundy)
