Scrapbook Retreat

Posted: November 19th, 2009 by Jean

Just getting around to posting some pictures from our weekend retreat. Only a small crowd but a good time was had by all and we got lots accomplished. And the food was GREAT! (potluck)

We were waaaay up top but how convenient was this lift when you had to carry everything AND the kitchen sink!

I'll take the stairs, no problem!

We all had a turn on the lift and finally settled in for a most productive weekend.

Yvonne and Kim seem to have a ‘theme’ going here. Let’s switch gears and see what Kelley’s doing. Kelley was VERY productive - much to Yvonne’s dismay and our amusement!

And is this not absolutely gorgeous?

All good things come to an end and here’s me packed up and ready to head home again.

For those of you who couldn’t make our retreat this time, we are getting together again on the weekend of January 8, 2010. Not sure if we’ll have pot luck or order in but we are going to have lots and lots of prizes. If you are in the area and want to join us, you are more than welcome! Give us a call!

Christmas Cards and Christmas Cloths

Posted: November 19th, 2009 by Jean

After finishing a card for Mojo Monday, (pictured here with some of my Mom’s beautiful embroidery - she just finished this cloth and I grabbed it for a photo shoot!) I went on to finish a couple sets of Christmas cards to add to my fast dwindling stash.

The photos hardly do justice. Both cards are embossed and are quite lovely. I do have a new camera but seems I rarely get opportunity to take photos in the daytime.

Anyway, here they are. Thank you Kelley for lending me your stamp set, Serene Snowflakes by Stampin Up. It’s definitely on my next order!

Mojo Monday Week 113

Posted: November 19th, 2009 by Jean

This is my third attempt at Mojo Monday and by golly, I think I’ve got it this time. I used a digi stamp from Dustin Pike’s MistleToad’s Christmas Stamp Set. Love the result.

Meet me under the MistleToad

Cardstock: Stampin Up Real Red, Old Olive, Whisper White

Designer Paper -  Stampin Up Merry Moments

Cuttlebug Embossing Folder:  Swiss Dots

Stampin Up Punches: 1-1/4 Circle, Scallop

Ribbon: Real Red

Sentiment: Meet Me Under the MistleToad I typed on computer, printed on Whisper White and punched out.

The frog was sized in Word to fit in a 2-3/8 x 3-3/8 rectangle and colored with my Copics.

Savour the Season

Posted: November 11th, 2009 by Jean

I had huge plans to spend the day scrapbooking - but things didn’t quite go as planned and only got to spend a couple hours this evening finishing off a couple things I had started. Like this Get Well easel card. First time I tried this particular card and have to say it’s pretty easy!

Also finished off these super easy cards with the puzzle piece on front and a most ‘fitting” sentiment inside - Missing you!

Still lovin’ those digi stamps - and though frogs and Christmas have little in common - except maybe the color green - I think these Christmas cards using digi stamps from Dustin Pike are super cute!

Also finished off this little pocket photo album I’d seen on  stampingwithroxy.typepad.com. The album is super simple to make and it had been sitting on my desk for several days now but instead of photos, mine will hold little notepads and I’ll use it for my Christmas gift lists.

Looking for ideas for using this stamp set from Stampin’Up and totally cased the card below from Mary Davidson at Seaside Inkspirations (stampingwithmary). This was the first card I came across in my search and I think it’s adorable. Thanks Mary!

From Tags to Cards

Posted: November 1st, 2009 by Jean

Received some absolutely stunning tags in a recent Christmas tag swap. Just too too pretty to use as tags so I’ve been trying to incorporate as many as I can into Christmas cards - here are a few of the results:

Trick or Treat

Posted: November 1st, 2009 by Jean

November already! Where has the fall gone? Lots of little trick or treaters last night but my absolute favorite by far was a little fireman. I had several bags of loot ready for Max and and all the little ghosts and goblins. Used Halloween digi stamps I’d colored for the bag toppers. Scrappin’ friend Kelley put me on to the coffin treat box (Martha Stewart website) and I used stamp set Best Witches (Stampin’Up)  on the coffin lid.

Kelley also gave me this cute little mummy she’d made using the Big Shot and Top Note die from Stampin’Up. I stuck it on the front of the little bag and filled with goodies. Cute!
