Best Witches!

Looks like the weekend is over already. I spent some time working on Halloween treats - not enough - I’m nowhere near finished so not ready with the pictures yet. My sister came across a pattern for this witch’s shoe online. http://www.skiptomylou.org/2008/10/28/paper-witch-shoes/
I’m filling mine with bags of candy and hope to have a dozen or so done for all the special little tricksters we get on Halloween. I also have these super cool plastic test tubes to fill with candy - haven’t done that yet either! The weekend was just too busy.
Friday night we celebrated a friend’s 50th birthday. Saturday was International. Once a month we get together with three other couples to wine and dine. Each month the host couple chooses a country and the menu for the evening reflects the cuisine of that particular part of the world - or so we assume. This month we had a little taste of Germany - Sauerkraut Soup, Schnitzel, Spaetzel, and Black Forest Cake for dessert. The cake was my contribution to the evening. I couldn’t get cherries at the local grocery store, so used cranberries instead - soaked in rum. Ooohhhh - just a tad bit tart! It was decided amongst the group that I wouldn’t bring dessert anymore! I’m not exactly recognized for my finesse in the kitchen and it would appear I am living up to my reputation!
Sam spent Saturday evening with us. First overnighter for Sammie. He was good as gold. Awake at 3:00 a.m. for his bottle and immediately back to sleep. He didn’t wake again until 8:30. Being it that I’m usually up at 6:30 - even on weekends - we all slept in!
Have a great week.
Later!
