Half a Dozen Buttons

While looking for a button this morning, came across these little beauties ….

and decided right away I’d use them in a card.

The lighting is not great and the picture doesn’t do the card justice, but it’s a real little gem. I’ve used the Magnolia Lion and colored him with my copics. The inside reads HAVE A GRRRREAT BIRTHDAY. See the button? Perfect!

Copics used:  Mane - E23, 25, 27, 29; Nose - E 23, 25; Ears & Cheeks - YR 02; Eyes YG 06; Lion - Y21, 23, YR 23

My Mom is working on a cloth using these same colors. I’ve done a fair bit of hinting, so I’m hoping I might find this one under my Christmas tree.

Mom is eighty years old and her fanciwork is as beautiful today as it was twenty years ago - might even be better.

All those perfect little stitches!

And I do believe this little beauty, grandson Sam, is in keeping with today’s color combo. He is, without question, cute as a button!

And my other little beauty, Max.

Handknit sweater and mittens

Posted: November 20th, 2011 by Jean

Not being able to knit, I have the greatest admiration for handknit items. What a treat yesterday to find this at the local craftshop for only $20.00. Couldn’t believe my luck. A local lady is responsible for the knitting, I was told. Not sure which one of my boys this will fit but for sure it will fit one of them.

Row Houses

St. John’s, Newfoundland is well known for its colorful row houses.

Artists across the province have been painting these whimsical houses in every color of the rainbow and these little rock beauties are showing up in craft stores everywhere. My own very talented sister, Jackie, is selling these for $15.00 each. Aren’t they gorgeous?
