Snow, snow and more snow

Posted: February 16th, 2011 by Jean

Day Two and the blizzard warning continues though I do believe we must be on the tail end of the storm. Winds are still gusting to 120, however, and I see the occasional patch of blue. For the past two days it’s been whiteouts (with winds gusting to 143 km) so that little splash of color is a much welcome sight. Surely tomorrow things will return to normal. I have, at least, been productive with the cards.

My favorite uses a digital image from Teddy Bo and Company . Only just discovered this site and know I’ll go back. Colored both images with Copic Markers: E30, E51, E33, R20, (bear) R59, (heart) E18, E27,(boots) E13, (button) E18, E27, (hat) E11, E13, E19, (hat band) E34 E35, E37, R59,  (dresss)  E0000, E000, E40 (envelope). Used Stampin’ Up stamps for the sentiments. My lacklustre skills with the camera hardly do them justice. They are gorgeous!

Also used Maurice from  Pollycraft. Isn’t he darling?  Even in his skivvies!   Just realized I hadn’t finished coloring his pants. Will fix that after this post.

And inside,

Also put Maurice on this Father’s Day card - no undies here.

Inside: Happy Fatherès Day to the Worldès Greatest Dad

Had a couple stamped images lying about already colored from the Gina K stamp set Just Be-Claws. The first is a Valentine, the second, a note card.

Inside: I think I'm in love. Happy Valentine's Day.

The following two use the digital image Super Genius from KennyK. I’ll personalize these as need be with a white gel pen - the first is a Get Well card; the second most likely a card for teacher. Any suggestions for the sentiments?

Mummu, a digital image from Mo Manning, is one of my all time favroites and I use it frequently in cards for seniors.

This last one uses a freebie I’ve had for quite some time. Sorry I can’t remember the source.

Sammy celebrated his first birthday yesterday. I didn’t get down to see him because of the storm but he had his party on Saturday and that I did get to. Here he is digging into his own special little cake, courtesy of Aunt Danita.

And in this one, the party’s over and it’s time to go home. Sam is chillin’ at the door waiting to go home while his Mom cleans up.

And here they are: my beautiful family.

Have a great day! Until next time,

Greek International

Posted: January 23rd, 2011 by Jean

Last night we met at a friend’s home for our monthly dinner club. This month’s International was Greek and what a fabulous evening. Great food; great company. We sat to dine just past six and finished the last course after ten. Fakes  to begin - then ouzo - Dolmadakia with calamari and Spanakopita - more ouzo - Souvlaki - a little more ouzo - Lamb with potatos for the main meal - think I opted out on the Ouzo this time - and Rizogalo for dessert.  Opa!!!

Before supper, however, did get a chance to finish off a few cards. The Happy Birthday is a CASE from a lady I met at a StampinUP weekend retreat. A nice masculine card. Clean and simple. I like this stamp.

The Valentine card uses a digital image from Make It Crafty. This particular image is called Geeky Love and I’ve colored up half a dozen of these with my Copics:  E00, 11, R20, R27, 29, 39, YG13, 45, E51, C3, 5, 7, 100, E, 33, 34, 35, B91, 95. The Yes, No, Maybe stamp was from the dollar bin at Michaels, I believe. Can’t touch Zoe’s card on the Make it Crafty site, but I’m pleased with it.

And here are my own two very special Valentines!

You’ve Got Mail

Posted: January 20th, 2011 by Jean

I’m not a big fan of chick flicks but have to admit I loved Sleepless in Seattle and You’ve got mail seemed the perfect sentiment for this flirtatious little bunny. Prairie Fairy is having a design team call and this is the freebie they’ve provided. He is adorable - looks a little naughty, a little nice - and I’ve colored him up with my Copics - so so easy to color as I’ve only used a half dozen plus colors - C1, C3, RV04, RV06, YG11, YG13 and a little R20 on the ears. This particular card is a Valentine but I have other plans for this little guy. My next scrapbook layout is going to be titled ” Some Bunny loves you and that Bunny is me! ” I have the perfect pics of Sammy and Max. Can’t wait to get started this weekend.

Digital stamps are great for resizing to fit your project and little Mr. Rabbit looks to be an image that will be very easy to cut and manipulate. Just happenchanced on Prairie Fairy and would so love to be part of their team.
