Mojo Monday 140

It’s probably a little late for posting a card for the Mojo Monday challenge on Sunday evening but here goes anyway . . .

I was quite pleased with what I did with this week’s sketch.

Used Newton once again. Found him a couple weeks back at http://www.newtons-law.com/colouring and colored him up with my Copics. Inside I’ve stamped Congratulations. On the outside, It’s your day is part of a Stampin’ Up birthday sentiment.  The pink and pale yellow cardstock, as well as the pink patterned paper are all Stampin’ Up products. This card can be used to recognize any accomplishment - girly girl of course. I think it’s darling. And don’t you just love it when you have just the right size envelope?

Mojo Monday 137

Love this week’s sketch at Mojo Monday. Perfect for this card.

Happened to walk past the Art Room at school one day last week and overheard the Art teacher reading a story about the primary colors to the children. “And what do you think the other colors are called?” she asked. “Elementary!”  This is true - I thought it was so cute. Not sure if it’s my connection with school or a fondness for the primary colors, but I always love school cards and they always seem to be a combo of black, red, white, and a little yellow. The yellow, by the way, is indeed from the scrap stash so fits in with the challenge here at Just Scraps as well.

Mojo Monday 133 and Christmas Cards All Year Round

This week’s Mojo Monday Sketch:

Discovered the Christmas Cards All Year Round challenge through one of the ladies who visited my blog. The challenge each month is to make either five assorted Christmas cards OR five identical cards. Love having a whole month to work on this - I’m sometimes a little slow off the mark. There’s also the added plus of having all your Christmas cards finished by the time December rolls around.

Anyway, combined the Christmas Card challenge with this week’s Mojo Monday sketch and this is what I came up with.  Not sure I like the colors here but I had to use at least one pastel (blue). My number one critic says “Not very Christmas-like” and I have to agree. While I love these colors, for me nothing says Christmas like red and green! I did use two of my favorite stamps: Penny Black’s to your wishes and Stampin’Up’s Serene Snowflakes.  The inside sentiment is computer generated: Sending a Little Holiday Cheer.
