Snow, snow and more snow

Posted: February 16th, 2011 by Jean

Day Two and the blizzard warning continues though I do believe we must be on the tail end of the storm. Winds are still gusting to 120, however, and I see the occasional patch of blue. For the past two days it’s been whiteouts (with winds gusting to 143 km) so that little splash of color is a much welcome sight. Surely tomorrow things will return to normal. I have, at least, been productive with the cards.

My favorite uses a digital image from Teddy Bo and Company . Only just discovered this site and know I’ll go back. Colored both images with Copic Markers: E30, E51, E33, R20, (bear) R59, (heart) E18, E27,(boots) E13, (button) E18, E27, (hat) E11, E13, E19, (hat band) E34 E35, E37, R59,  (dresss)  E0000, E000, E40 (envelope). Used Stampin’ Up stamps for the sentiments. My lacklustre skills with the camera hardly do them justice. They are gorgeous!

Also used Maurice from  Pollycraft. Isn’t he darling?  Even in his skivvies!   Just realized I hadn’t finished coloring his pants. Will fix that after this post.

Also put Maurice on this Father’s Day card - no undies here.

Had a couple stamped images lying about already colored from the Gina K stamp set Just Be-Claws. The first is a Valentine, the second, a note card.

Inside: I think I'm in love. Happy Valentine's Day.

The following two use the digital image Super Genius from KennyK. I’ll personalize these as need be with a white gel pen - the first is a Get Well card; the second most likely a card for teacher. Any suggestions for the sentiments?

Mummu, a digital image from Mo Manning, is one of my all time favroites and I use it frequently in cards for seniors.

This last one uses a freebie I’ve had for quite some time. Sorry I can’t remember the source.

Sammy celebrated his first birthday yesterday. I didn’t get down to see him because of the storm but he had his party on Saturday and that I did get to. Here he is digging into his own special little cake, courtesy of Aunt Danita.

And in this one, the party’s over and it’s time to go home. Sam is chillin’ at the door waiting to go home while his Mom cleans up.

And here they are: my beautiful family.

Have a great day! Until next time,

Happy Birthday Angela

Posted: February 1st, 2011 by Jean

Mom had asked me to do a card for Angela, my sister’s granddaughter. Angela is soon to be three.  Saw Mo Manning’s digi, Alice in pencil, colored up in blue out in blogland and knew right away I wanted to do the same card for our little girl.  The DP is StampinUp’s Blueberry Crisp - gorgeous! Not a great photo, I’m afraid. I don’t have my daughter-in-law’s talent with the camera.

When I brought the card down to Mom she was busy with her fancywork. She’s a month shy of eighty and never sits still. This is the cloth she’s working on now. It’s beautiful. Hours and hours of work here. Mom would be lost without something to work on.

I just love all handcrafted items. Saw these little socks at the local fabric store this weekend and bought a couple pairs for the boys - $3.00. The lady who works there told me her Grandma does them. They’re darling!

Max was over for the weekend and spent time outside with the little girl next door. Rosy cheeks when he came in.

On of our favorite things to do is play Lego. This weekend he took apart everything we put together last weekend.  Next weekend I suspect Grammy will be asked to put it all together again.

That’s it for me for this evening.  Think I’ll curl up in my corner of the couch and do a little coloring. Have a great week!

Clean and Simple

Posted: January 27th, 2011 by Jean

Here’s another birthday card using the digi Rock Chick from KennyK’s Glam Gang series. Not much fuss and bother on this one - like the clean lines.

Here’s another Clean and Simple - this one was a gift from my Scrapping buddy Kelley over at Creative Dwy. Thanks Kelley - this one is a real beauty!

And finally - just because - here’s the Frog. Got this freebie ages ago over at Pollycraft and have to admit he’s a favorite. Right into the square cards lately and thought I’d give Froggy a spot here.

Aren’t these photos so much better than my ususal fare? Dear DIL is kindly doing my photos for me and she’s great with a camera.

Have a lovely evening - looks like we have yet more snow coming in so think I’ll get cosy on the couch with my coloring.

Cheers!

Jean
